Gathering for Baptisms, 2008

This year, we are again planning on holding the feast at a campground about 7 miles from Eminence, Missouri. Eminence is located in the south-central part of the state.

If you are new to keeping this feast or new to camping in general, you will have plenty of support. We'll have a team of people to help you set up and there will be plenty of experienced brethren around to help support you throughout the week if you have any needs. There is also a lodge available.

The first day of the feast will be on 9/24 or 9/25. The last day of the feast will be on 10/1 or 10/2. We won't be 100% which day the feast will start until September 9th arrives and it is known whether or not we will see the new moon here in Missouri. If it is seen that night, we'll be starting the feast on the 24th of September

You will want to arrive on the day before the beginning of the feast, to allow for plenty of time to get your tents and/or campers set up for that night when the feast begins. The first and last days of the feast are holy days where no work is to be done except for food preparations/cooking. However, Yahweh does allow for setting up your tent / Sukkah on the first day of the feast if necessary (Lev. 23:40).

CAMPGROUND INFORMATION

The campground is run by a non-denominational Christian ministry whose workers are looking forward to our fourth Feast of Tabernacles at their facility. The campground has the following facilities/amenities:

MEETINGS AND MEALS

There will be a scheduled meeting every day in a large tent. Each meeting will include a special lesson for children, musical praise to Yahweh, and scripture studies which center around family life, feast observance, seeking righteousness, and being overcomers as sojourners and pilgrims on the earth. If you have a topic you would like to share with the group, please contact me.

There will also be Hebrew lessons every evening which will teach everyone how to read the written Hebrew language. Quizzes will be given so that by the end of the feast, most everyone who attends the classes should be able to read Hebrew. Of course, understanding what you read will be the next step for everyone :)

Meals will not be provided, but a scheduled communal meal will be planned for each of the holy days so that we can all sit and have a meal together. You can fix your meals over a campfire if you like, or bring a small propane stove for camping. The Iron Stake lodge has a small kitchen with a refrigerator, stove/oven and cabinetry. Those staying in the Iron Stake lodge will have priority access to the kitchen.

CAMPSITE ACTIVITIES

The ministry that runs the campground has various group challenges and activities which center around overcoming challenges together as a group. It's a nice compliment to the Feast of Tabernacles because we know that the children of Israel faced many challenges in the wilderness. Many of us enjoyed these activities the last 3 years so we decided to do it again.

The staff at this facility will set up some challenges, some of which will require group participation in order to accomplish. Some of the challenges will require a certain amount of physical ability but others will be more of a mental or spiritual challenge. Using the camp staff's experience in working with groups, these challenges will be used to teach spiritual lessons which will help us to accomplish tasks and challenges together more effectively.

There is a fee associated with each of the below challenges because they are operated by the staff of the campground facility and require insurance. They will not charge for more than 4 persons per family. So if you have a family of 6 children and two adults, they will only charge for 4 of you. You will sign up for the activities once you arrive at the campground. You will have until 5pm each day to sign up for a planned activity on the following day.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

The following activities don't involve the campground staff so there is no cost.

Some of the activities for children and youth:

We believe it is important to use the feasts to teach our children about the wonderful works of Yahweh. Here are some of the activities planned:

Some of the other planned activities for anyone interested:

We plan to make plenty of time for fellowship, 'round table' scripture discussions and studies, music and praising Yahweh around the campfire or in the lodge, and just getting to know each other as brothers and sisters in Yahweh. We'll have one central location where everyone can gather around the campfire every night and sing praises to Yahweh, fellowship together, and study or share words of encouragement.

For those seeking to be baptized in the name of Yahushua the Messiah, we will be offering a baptism service during the first and last parts of the feast...or other times if need be.

FEAST FUND

For those who can afford to help others, we have set up a feast fund to help anyone with costs of attending the feast. Let me know if you would like to contribute or if you need some financial assistance in order to attend.

For those who can afford to help others to attend, we have set up a feast fund. To contribute, click this donate button:

You can also send your donation to: Treasures of Yahweh  P.O. Box 1255  Ava, MO 65608. Make sure you mention that it's for the feast fund. It's helpful to have contributions done well in advance so that those who otherwise cannot afford to come will know that there are funds available and make plans. If there is any left over, we'll save it for another feast or put it in the open treasury

CAMP PRICING

We have been given a 20% discount on all pricing at the campground. Furthermore, they will not charge for more than 4 members of any immediate family. This means that if you have 2 adults and 5 children under 18 years of age, they will only charge for 4 people total. This is to help large families with many children attend the feast. Anyone over 18 will need to pay the normal daily rate.

Figuring in the 20% discount, the pricing for the campground and activities are as follows:

Daily (per person)

Description

$4.20

Primitive camping (no electric/water)

$5.20 Camping using Electric & Water
$6.40 Camping using Electric, Water & Sewer
$14.00 Sleeping in a lodge room (3 person minimum charge per room)

The campground requires a deposit to reserve a campsite/room. You can pay your deposit online via PayPal, or you can send in your deposit to EliYah.com, P.O. Box 1255 Ava, MO 65608. Please don't send in any payment without registering.

At the end of the feast, the campsite will collect the monies and your deposit will count toward the final bill which must be paid with a credit/debit card, cash, check or money order. If you make a deposit but do not come to the feast, you will lose your deposit.

RULES

There will be a Dress Code requiring modest apparel only. No see-through clothing, clothes which draw attention to, or reveal the shape of, the private parts of the body such as low necklines and tight fitting garments. Skirts or dresses should not expose the knees when sitting down.

To attend, you must firmly believe in Yahushua the Messiah, believe in keeping Yahweh's feasts, and believe in keeping the Sabbath on the 7th day of the week, commonly called "Saturday." Of course, if you want to invite a friend who is interested in learning about the feasts, they are welcome to join us as long as they aren't disruptive.

Pets are not recommended but are permitted as long as they are leashed and supervised at all times.

No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the grounds. This is a longstanding rule established by the campground.

CLIMATE

Average temperatures for this time of the year is mid 70's during the day and lower to mid 50's at night. Click here for last year's weather in nearby Springfield, MO. Inclement weather is always possible so make sure your tent and other equipment is well prepared for wind and rain. Sundown will occur at close to 7pm local time (CDT).

If you have any questions about the feast, please contact me.
